PIGMENTATION
SPOTS REMOVAL - By Erbium Laser or Intensive Pulse Light
IPL Treatment Procedure
Intensive Pulse Light (IPL) is a device using light energy of various wave
lengths of visible and infrared spectrum. The gel applied to the skin improves
the contact between the hand-piece and the skin surface. The light energy is
delivered into skin by intense flashes of light. Due to its optimum wave
lengths, the applied light is absorbed in pigment spots, encouraging their
structural changes resulting in loss of colour.
The procedure should be repeated after two to four weeks, three or four
times, depending on the reaction. Sun exposure must be avoided by using SPF 50+
cream.

Laser Treatment Procedure
Erbium laser emits infrared radiation which is
excellently used for precise removal of thin surface skin layers. After
treatment the thin outermost skin layer is burnt, the skin sloughs off in
several days together with the undesired spot pigmentation. One session, in
other cases two treatment sessions, may be sufficient.
The differences between IPL and laser treatment: skin surface after IPL is not damaged, but
laser treatment is more effective and the results may be achieved in a shorter
period of time. .
