FOTODYNAMIC THERAPY
It is targeted to reduce the amount
of sebaceous glands in the skin by making use of therapeutic agent, the effect
of which is increased by the application of red light.
Treatment Procedure
The agent, making the skin more sensitive to the light, is applied and left on for 30 – 60 minutes,
and then activated with red light (LED). The skin may be slightly red after treatment
and it may get worse during the following day. The skin must be protected
against sun with SPF 50+ cream for three –for days. After two weeks the therapy
may be repeated three to eighth times, depending on the skin reaction and
conditions. To maintain the results, treatment
may be repeated in six months.

Laser is the only laser of its kind in Slovakia used to treat acne. This laser energy is targeted
at the root cause of acne, the sebaceous gland in deep layers of the skin. Thermal
devastation of the cells of sebaceous glands reduces the sebum production.
Unlike in full area photodynamic treatment, the laser effect is more intense
and treatment can be targeted to a specific area.
Treatment Procedure
For about 30 minutes before the treatment, the anesthetic cream is applied to
the skin. After sufficient numbing, laser pulses are applied to the afflicted
areas. Extra sensitive patients may feel slight pain during treatment. Most
patients experience mild redness and a mild sunburn like reaction which will subside
after one or two days. In extraordinary cases, small scabs may be formed.
Treatment is repeated three to five times in one month intervals.

BLUE LIGHT
Is a unique treatment technique in
inflammatory acne, applied by means of a device made by an Israeli firm LUMENIS famous for its
cosmetic treatment appliances. The “blue”
light free of ultraviolet radiation is primarily absorbed in Propionibacterium acne,
a microorganism causing most serious inflammatory acne. Treatment can be
made separately (eight times in two to
